Surrounded by beautiful countryside, The Ruby Country Lodge Park offers the ultimate in relaxation.

Along with all the benefits of tranquil and secluded country living, you have the added convenience of the neighbouring local towns and villages only a short distance away.

There are a number of things to do in the area including cycling, fishing, surfing, horse riding, golfing as well as the numerous local country walks. Only a five minute drive away are Dartmoor National Park and Roadford Lake, the South Wests largest inland lake.

Coastal paths and beaches
With the glorious sandy beaches and breathtaking coastal paths throughout North Devon and North Cornwall there are many stunning beaches to choose from, including Widemouth Bay, famous for its excellent surfing, or Crackington Haven, a joy for rock pools and lazy afternoons.

Local towns
The popular resort of Bude lies just 18 miles away, and has an excellent range of shops and restaurants, many specialising in locally caught seafood, along with a golf course, surf schools, tennis, riding, indoor ‘splash’ pool, and bowling, as well as several more sandy beaches.

Holsworthy, Hatherleigh and Okehampton, all approximately 11 miles away, hold traditional farmers markets which are the perfect place to get local produce to cook up a feast back at the holiday park.

Nearby Holsworthy also has a good selection of local shops, an indoor swimming pool and leisure centre, and an 18-hole golf course. Okehampton, which is only a ten minute drive away, is home to the Museum of Dartmoor Life and to the Dartmoor Railway (from Okehampton to Crediton). It also has a cinema, which has all the latest film releases.

Outdoor activities
Just over 7 miles away is the watersport centre at Roadford Lake, where you will find sailing, canoeing, rowing, angling, pretty walks, picnic spots and a lovely lakeside restaurant. The area is a must for walkers, cyclists and nature lovers, with the famous Tarka Trail and the wild beauty of Dartmoor within close proximity.

Eating out and getting provisions
There is a great choice of places to eat out, with local pubs and quality restaurants in the surrounding market towns and villages, offering a vast array of locally produced food. Halwill Junction has a lovely traditional village pub, serving real ales and good home cooking, as well as a village store for your convenience. Waitrose have a supermarket in Holsworthy, which is only a 15 minute drive from the park.

Places to visit
There are numerous National Trust properties in the area; garden lovers will enjoy the RHS gardens at Rosemoor and Docton Mill. Hartland Abbey and Lighthouse are also nearby along with many other local beauty spots including Bucks Mills and Clovelly, an old fishing village clinging to the steep cliff, with cobbled streets and a picturesque harbour.

Family attractions
The Big Sheep and The Milky Way Adventure Park will keep old and young amused all day, and for a great day out, the world famous Eden Project is only about 45 minutes away by car.
